Spud
Reception, Yoga, Box Jump & Sprint Specialist
Spud joined the team after many years of being underfed, leaping high fences, dodging vehicles and generally not fulfilled with his life within 4 walls.
After a couple of attempts to move on to greener pastures, some discipline with diet, yoga, regular sprint training and unlimited amounts of altitude forrest and beach runs, he began to breath much deeper, relax and dramatically reduce his anxiety levels within a few months of joining the postural performance team.
Loving his sleep, this half beagle half foxhound challenges anyone to be a more sociable sprinter than he is, and will take up any ones offer to an outing to the ocean.
Nick Holmes
Principal Physical, Myofascial, Remedial Therapist
Massuer & Sports Practitioner
An English born Junior Cross Country runner and soccer player, Junior Swimmer In Fiji, International Marathoner and Triathlete at 15. Despite smashing himself for 4 1/2 years as a Junior on the New Zealand Triathlon Circuit he arrived in Brisbane and proudly rode for University Queensland Cycle Club alongside ( more so behind ) some of Queensland’s and Australia’s big names of the 90’s.
Now with over 30 years of working in the health and fitness Industry and close to 45 years of competing, this Co Founder of The Musgrave Park Pirates Multisport Group can still be seen smashing the streets and pools of Brisbane or the beach and surf at Burleigh to stay fit for a random Aquathon, Pirate challenge, surf swim, game of volleyball or waterpolo.
Nick strongly believes the environment with which we live, and the systems that we have been educated to depend on, are directly responsible for a majority of our health issues today.
Although a majority of Nick’s work has been sport and performance based, as he flirts with “almost half a century”, he is now back in Brisbane full time at Kangaroo Point to help you perform at your best.
Through all types of physical therapy, deep tissue, Myofascial release, body maintenance and consistency, he will help educate you on how to minimize overuse injuries, perfect your posture, body balance and performance and refer you to the appropriate professionals if it is beyond his expertise.
The simple fact that he has played and worked with a majority of Sports available and also spent many hours “stuck behind a computer” makes him the perfect therapist to give you that edge in work rest and play.
Although Nick is constantly studying via correspondence and educating himself on new techniques, he holds a Diploma in Anat Phys & BM (UK), Cert IV in Sports Massage (Australia), Cert IV in Remedial Massage (Australia ), Cert IV Lymphatic Drainage (Australia), Cert III Swedish Massage (Australia ), Oncology Massage 1 (Australia), Level 2 Sports Trainer (Australia ), New Zealand Certificate in Fitness, Member of Massage & Myotherapy Australia and Australian Association of Massage Therapists, Associate Masseur to Queensland Academy of Sport, Past Football Federation Australia Junior Coaching License. Mika
Clinic Supervisor / Strength & Conditioning / Power / Recovery
Mika originally a fostered dog joined the team after she was found by the RSPCA wandering the streets of Toowoomba.
Badly nourished as a puppy, with no-where to call home she fell in love with Spud and our team from day one. In her short period with us she has learnt how to swim, eat healthy and race hard on any terrain. Her speciality is loyalty, obedience and has proved herself time and time again as the hood security officer.
